Fahnen Gärtner GmbH was named Company of the Year 2022 at the annual conference of the Trade Association for the Textile, Clothing, Shoe and Leather Industry (TBSL), Clothing Industry Professional Group, in October 2022. The company's achievements lie in Austrian value creation and the integration of production into a circular economy. As probably the most environmentally friendly flag producer in Europe, social components are also central topics in addition to the ecological focus. The responsible treatment of people and nature led to this award.
"A product is interchangeable - a corporate culture cannot be copied. We want to further develop innovative strength in Austria," were the clear words of Gerald Heerdegen, Managing Director of FAHNENGÄRTNER, in his acceptance speech. It is also clear to him: "Flags are more than just a piece of fabric, because they reflect our identity, solidarity, success and tradition." Ultimately, the company culture is adapted to the product. He also accepted the award on behalf of the entire company and all its employees.
Since its foundation in 1945, FAHNEGÄRTNER has developed into an important and central company for the region - with a site of approx. 7,500m², 100 employees, 30,000 customers and a consumption of 500,00m² of fabric per year. Social commitment, sustainable and environmentally conscious action as well as family-friendly, health-conscious, appreciative and talent-oriented employee management are also reflected in past awards, such as the TRIGOS Award in the category Employee Initiatives. The award for Company of the Year 2022 is another milestone and signpost for the flag manufacturer from Salzburg.
