Flagpoles
The main difference lies in how the flag is displayed. On a flagpole with an extension arm, the flag is attached to a horizontal crossbar. This keeps it largely unfurled even when there is no wind, ensuring that the design or logo is clearly visible at all times.
On a flagpole without an extension arm, the flag hangs freely from the pole and unfurls mainly due to the wind. When there is little or no wind, it may wrap around the pole or collapse, thereby limiting visibility.
Flagpoles with a cantilever arm are frequently used for advertising and corporate flags, as they allow for the permanent display of logos and messages. Flagpoles without a boom, on the other hand, are often suitable for classic flags, club flags, or locations where a traditional flag display is desired. The choice ultimately depends on the design requirements, the intended use, and local conditions.
